O'Fallon Police Dept Tour - Birthday Bash at JJ's - Train Layout   (August 10, 2019)

What a time we all had yesterday! Major John Neske was our tour guide, and what a tour guide he was. He was outstanding. I think he covered everything you ever wanted to know about his police force and describing the new high tech building the O'Fallon Police Force work out of today. Right off the top, I want to say thank you to John Neske for coming in on a Saturday, an off day for him, to provide the tour for us.

There is so much to see in the building. It was impressive hearing John tell us about how strategic the floor plan was put together. We were shown were detectives work, the workout room, the room that has the screens that provide various scenarios of situations that an officer could come upon, the firing range, and where they park the police cars, and many more areas of interest — what a learning experience it was.

We then left the police department and headed over to JJ's for our Birthday Brunch. We were provided a private room, and it worked out great — a lot of conversation and a fun time we all had. I presented Chad Isakson his plaque for the fastest reaction time off the line in South Dakota for drag racing.

Some of us went to visit a train layout in Fort Zumwalt Park.  St. Charles Model Railroad has a nice layout there. If you are familiar with the park, you may remember a lake being there. The lake is gone! They are doing a lot of work in that area.

I hope you enjoy the photos. Thanks go out to Rich Weinhold for sharing some of his pictures.
